A 19 year old attacked the Chabad synagogue in the city of Poway armed with an AR-15 rifle. At 11:30am, he broke in and shot a woman standing in the lobby; she lost her life shielding Rabbi Israel Goldstein who was injured. An off-duty police officer working as a security guard at the synagogue, fired but missed the attacker (he did hit the car and prevent an escape).
